Eric Preece

Eric Preece took the helm at Liberty Elementary in July 2026 with more than 22 years of dedicated service to Fayette County Public Schools. He previously served as assistant principal at Cardinal Valley since 2023.

Preece’s career in education began in 2004 in Lexington, where he served at Arlington Elementary as a special education teacher. He continued in different classroom teaching, coaching, and administrative roles in FCPS until 2023, when he joined the administrative team at Cardinal Valley.

Preece holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky, a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), and an English as a Second Language Endorsement from EKU.
