“Tree Campus” Salutes Three Elementaries

“Tree Campus” Salutes Three Elementaries

Fayette County Public Schools has produced three honorees in the 2025 Tree Campus program through the Arbor Day Foundation. Cassidy, Deep Springs, and Liberty elementaries were recently recognized for their commitment to tree-focused education throughout the 2024-25 school year. Nationwide, 107 schools received a special flag to mark their achievement.

Tree Campus K-12 is a national recognition program that helps schools bring the power of trees into the classroom and their community. Schools qualify by meeting four core goals:

  • Maintain a Tree Campus team that is dedicated to achieving recognition
  • Create an education plan that connects students to trees and their global benefits
  • Offer a hands-on experience that engages students in trees and the community
  • Hold an Arbor Day observance to celebrate trees within the school or the community

Our FCPS recipients were repeat winners: Deep Springs and Liberty for a second year, and Cassidy for a fourth – each demonstrating a deep commitment to this environmental cause.
